Clean Heat Grant

What is the Clean Heat Grant?

The Clean Heat Grant is the new Government scheme, aimed to help fund the transition from gas boilers to low carbon alternatives, such as Air Source Heat Pumps.

Even before it's conception however, the scheme has already been a topic for debate. The initial agreement was that a voucher for £4,000 would be issued to help towards the costs. There has since been talks about this figure being increased to £7,000 due to the expense of installing renewable energy systems.

When will it launch?

The Clean Heat Grant is set to launch in April 2022 and will run until March 2024.

Currently there is a scheme in place called the Renewable Heat Incentive which has been running for a number of years now and has worked reasonably well. However, all good things must come to an end and the RHI scheme will close to new applicants on 31st March 2022.

The finer details...

The finer details have yet to be agreed and passed by the Government and the full proposal is expected to be announced later this year.

Let's see what is in store and keep our fingers crossed this is not just another Green Homes Grant FAIL.

We will continue to update this page as and when further announcements are released by the Government. Come on Boris, help us to help you reach those net zero targets!
